Kroll Security Group (KSG) has been providing security consulting and engineering services for Merrill Lynch since 1995. We have performed planning, design, bid and construction management services for over twenty of Merrill Lynch’s New York and New Jersey facilities. The most notable is the World Financial Center, where we assisted in the upgrade of the video imaging, access control, alarm monitoring and closed circuit television systems within two forty-story towers that comprise the Merrill Lynch Corporate Headquarters.
In addition, we have recently completed an identical scope at the Merrill Lynch New Jersey facilities consisting of 8 buildings distributed within Somerset and Princeton, NJ. The New Jersey headquarters also included the design of a new Security Command Center. In addition to the Command Center’s electronic security operations, such issues as architecture, lighting, power and other infrastructure requirements were developed by KSG.
Project challenges throughout our relationship with Merrill Lynch included developing standards and compatibility for all electronic security systems. These standards include integration issues such as a corporate-wide access control and video imaging database to facilitate truly integrated systems throughout Merrill Lynch’s United States operations. Equipment standards for all field devices were developed to ensure non-proprietary technology, competitive bidding, and high availability of all equipment within the Merrill Lynch security program.
