Kroll Security Group (KSG) has worked with the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) for many years providing a wide range of security services including assessments, and design of access control and alarm monitoring systems for multiple projects.
KSG was hired to conduct a security assessment and standards development for the UTSA Security System. Facilities on three separate campuses including 34 buildings as well as a 50,000 square foot museum were evaluated.
The overall objective for this engagement included the need to conduct an assessment of the existing security systems, recommend appropriate systems design criteria, develop manufacturer or performance standards for equipment, develop implementation approach, and prepare an opinion of probable costs.
KSG developed a specific approach that would satisfy the requirements for the project and assist in meeting the goals and objectives as defined by the Client. Based upon KSG specifications, UTSA will utilize the recommended systems and alarm monitoring standards for all existing and new construction facilities.
UTSA serves the San Antonio metropolitan area and the broader region of South Texas through programs and services offered from its three campuses: 1604 Campus, Downtown Campus and UTSA's Institute of Texan Cultures.
UTSA is the second-largest component in The University of Texas System and has been one of the state's fastest-growing public universities for much of the last decade.
