Reliant Stadium

Houston, Texas

Kroll Security Group was retained by Lockwood, Andrews and Newnam to complete full scope design and implementation security services for the construction of Reliant Stadium in Houston, Texas.

Reliant Stadium’s state-of-the-art security system consists of Point Monitoring Access Control (PMAC); a Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) System; Video Imaging System; Fiber Optic Transition System and Intercom System with Security Console; Equipment Racks; all applicable wire, cable and fiber optic devices; and the functional integration of all subsystems through subsystem interfaces.

Home to the NFL’s Houston Texans, Reliant Stadium is the first NFL stadium with a retractable roof.  With over 1.9 million square feet, the stadium has over 165 private suites, 7,500 club seats and 550 concession points of service.

One of the most notable aspects of the stadium design is the unique operable fabric roof.  While the NFL prefers to play games in open-air stadiums, the Rodeo, with a winter schedule, has requirements for an indoor, controlled environment.  All events take place on real grass, afforded by the natural light of the stadium’s fabric roof.
