New York City Housing Authority Central Office

New York, New York

The New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) is the largest public housing authority in North America.  NYCHA provides decent and affordable housing in a safe and secure living environment for low and moderate-income residents throughout the five boroughs of New York City.

Kroll Security Group was retained to provide security design services including preparation and completion of all plans, construction documents and specifications as well as providing construction coordination to insure compliance with contract documents for the NYCHA Central Office facilities at the 90 Church Street Station Post Office building located adjacent the World Trade Center site.

The building was built in 1935 and is on the National Register of Historic Places.  It reopened in August 2004 after suffering moderate damage from the September 11, 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center.

NYCHA's Central Offices included Interior office space with fixed offices and open landscape planning with systems furniture for 2,100 staff; support rooms (conference rooms, file rooms, etc.); pantries and vending areas; mailroom facility; data center; PBX telephone center; UPS room with back-up batteries and electrical distribution; emergency generator system; and IDF closets.

Integrated Electronic Security Systems:

  • Access Control
  • CCTV Systems reporting via LAN/WAN to NYCHA's existing head-end Security Command Center

This is a Historical Restoration project.
