The NASCAR Hall of Fame is one component of the NASCAR Hall of Fame Complex, located in uptown Charlotte and adjacent to the Charlotte Convention Center. The NASCAR Hall of Fame is owned by the City of Charlotte and will be operated by the Charlotte Regional Visitors Authority. Groundbreaking ceremonies were held in January 2007 and construction began in May 2007.
Kroll Security Group was retained by Pei Cobb Freed to perform security consulting services as well as design, engineering, bid award and implementation oversight services for the security systems at the Hall of Fame facilities.
The Hall of Fame includes a new five-story parking garage, exhibit space, a Great Hall, a Hall of Honor, interactive entertainment restaurants, retail outlets, and a state-of-the-art media center, totaling approximately 540,000 square feet.
With an estimated completion date of 2010, this state-of-the-art facility will honor NASCAR icons and create an enduring tribute to the drivers, crew members, team owners and others that have impacted the sport in the past, present and future.
