Kroll Security Group was retained by Ellerbe Becket in 1997 to provide security system planning and design on the base of the Kingdom Centre building in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Kroll Security Group was sensitive to the unique aspects of the client, and understood how critical security issues were to the ultimate success of the project. In a region that offers unique security challenges, we felt the key to this project was in achieving a balance between the inherent desire of the Kingdom Centre to provide ease of public access and serviceability with the critical need to provide protection to the world class clientele the facility attracts.
Our security assessments of the facility included staffing and procedures for securing the building, policies regarding tenant and visitor control, and the need for electronic security systems.
This high-rise, multi-use office tower contains 30 floors of occupied space, and underground parking for 3000 cars. The complex also houses a Four Seasons Hotel, high-end retail shopping, featuring over 160 stores, the Kingdom Holding Company, United Saudi Commercial Bank, luxury condominiums and apartments, a business center, and the largest wedding / conference center in the Middle East.
The Kingdom Centre is the tallest skyscraper in Saudi Arabia, reaching a height of 992 feet.
