Kroll Security Group provided planning and design of the security systems for the Jefferson County Government Center project including courtrooms, holding areas, judges’ chambers, parking areas, loading docks and administrative offices.
Security Systems Designed:
The Jefferson County Government Center includes two five-story buildings connected by a common five-story atrium. One building serves as the county courthouse and includes a total of twenty-five (25) civil and criminal courts. The courts building is interconnected to an existing jail facility via a secured underground tunnel. Secured elevators transport prisoners from a common holding cell up into individual courtroom holding areas.
The second building serves as administrative offices for the local county government. County departments include Motor Vehicle, Tax Assessor, Highways & Transportation, Building and Purchasing. The administrative building also provides office space for the County Commissioners and County Attorneys. Two above grade parking structures serve the general public and employee population. An underground secured facility is provided for judges and commissioners.
