James A Farley Building and Train Station

New York, New York

Kroll Security Group assisted Skidmore Owings & Merrill with the planning, design and implementation of security systems for the Pennsylvania Station Redevelopment Corporation.

The scope of the project included the expansion of the existing Penn Station into the Farley Building.  Moynihan Station, a train hall, was also built in the annex of the James A. Farley Post Office Building.

The project was to accommodate current and future requirements of the United States Postal Service, while creating a world-class transportation facility.

The Farley building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and occupies two full city blocks.  The Farley Post Office holds the distinction of being the only Post Office in New York City that is open to the public 24 hours and 7 days a week.

This is a Historical Restoration project.
