Kroll Security Group was retained by General Electric to assist in the planning, design, engineering, and implementation of new gatehouses with vehicular controls, and the retrofit of security systems at their Headquarters located in Fairfield Connecticut and their training center in Crotonville, NY.
In an effort to increase the safety and security of the two sites described, GE sought to establish new gatehouses at the primary vehicle entrances. Kroll was engaged to work with the company’s facilities personnel and architects to develop a plan based on traffic analysis, state of the art technologies deployment, and value oriented systems designs. The resulting structures utilized integrated access control and communications systems, operable bollards, vehicle arm gates, and custom signage / control solutions.
In order to facilitate a timely and budget conscious design, Kroll Security Group was challenged to find value oriented solutions and alternatives for the implementation of vehicle barriers. The final equipment selection proved to provide an approximate 40% cost reduction over conventional product selections without a compromise in protection, operation, and durability. The solution also afforded the opportunity to meet aggressive schedules and budget initiatives by allowing for a phased implementation of bollard controls and infrastructure.
