Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis

Minneapolis, Minnesota

The Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis hired the Hellmuth Obata & Kassabaum / Kroll Security Group team to provide site feasibility analysis, facility programming and complete architectural design services for its new corporate headquarters.

The Bank wanted the new headquarters to resolve functional and operational problems that it was experiencing in its previous building.  Departments were running out of space and were scattered over several floors.  The Bank also required more flexibility to expand and contract space in response to its changing mission, workload and organization.

Kroll Security Group provided complete security design, planning and implementation to create a cooperative security system for the entire Federal Reserve Bank site at Minneapolis.

The 777,000 square foot project included an eight-story office tower and a four-story operations center.  The operations center and office tower are connected underground and by a second-story walkway that encircles the interior courtyard, which affords pedestrian access to the riverfront from First Avenue North.
