Kroll Security Group (KSG) was retained by SmithGroup Inc. to provide security consultation and design engineering services for the new Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago – Detroit Branch located just outside of downtown Detroit. The site consists of a multi-story Administration building with adjacent general delivery dock, Cash Department with vault and dedicated delivery dock, Check Processing Center and employee and visitor parking lots.
Commissioned in 2002, FRB Detroit features a landscaped, campus-style environment with state-of-the-art systems for cash and check processing as well as modern telecommunications systems, and enhanced security for all operations. The structure is constructed of rusticated stone, pre-cast concrete, metal and glass.
