Kroll Security Group assisted Karlsberger and Seton Healthcare in the planning and design of security systems for this full service pediatric facility. Systems designed included access control, alarm monitoring and CCTV.
The new $200 million dollar Dell Children’s Medical Center of Central Texas is located on approximately 32 acres of the old Austin Mueller airport site. The project consisted of a four-story full service pediatric facility that is three times larger than the previous Children’s Hospital; with approximately 475,000 square feet of new hospital. The project also included a three-acre fully landscaped Healing Garden located to the south of the patient bed towers. The 170-bed facility is the first hospital in the world to have Platinum Status under the Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) program sponsored by the U.S. Green Building Council.
This new state-of-the-art facility serves all of the sick and injured children in the 46-county Central Texas region replacing the Children's Hospital of Austin.
