Kroll Security Group (KSG) was retained by Jacob's Carter & Burgess to provide security consulting services for the Bureau of Engraving and Printing’s expansion project in Fort Worth, Texas.
The project consisted of an 86,400 square foot production area expansion, a new public tour facility (Visitor Center) and a 17,600 square foot expansion of the Federal Reserve truck dock.
KSG was responsible for expanding the existing security systems at the plant to accommodate the expansion of the production area and to design security for a new Visitor Center. Design security was also provided for four new Truck Cells that were added to the Federal Reserve truck dock.
The Western Currency Facility located in Fort Worth, Texas prints currency for the Eastern half of the United States. This secured printing plant was designed to provide sufficient capacity for the production of currency well into the 21st century. Because of the facility's function, security, material flow and storage requirements were major priorities.
