Broward County Convention Center and Hotel

Kroll Security Group was retained in 2006 by Seattle based LMN Architects to provide a comprehensive Master plan for the Greater Fort Lauderdale/Broward County Convention Center.
The Broward Convention Center is located on the Northern end of the Port Everglades, the world’s second largest cruise ship terminal.
As a part of this detailed Master Plan, the following goals were established to understand the vision and objectives affecting the Broward county Convention Center.
Master Plan Goals & Objectives:
- Analyze and relocate the Port Everglades/Convention Center security boundary
- Analyze the Market and Financial Feasibility of expanding the Convention Center
- Analyze the Market and Financial Feasibility of a new Convention Center Hotel
- Conceptual security planning of the recommended convention center expansion and hotel
- Assist to amend Development of Regional Impact (DRI) to support new project scope
- Develop Financing Alternatives leading to an RFP for hotel developers
- Analyze and evaluate hotel proposals and negotiate with selected hotel developers
