Kroll Security Group (KSG) provided security planning, system design and documentation, bid assistance and construction administration services for the new Austin City Hall building in Austin.
Designed by Antoine Predock, this 4-story 115,000 s.f. architecturally renowned structure houses city council chambers, a public lobby and offices for the mayor, council members and other city departments. The facility includes space for press conferences and a restaurant/retail area. The site includes a significant amount of outdoor public space and below the structure is a 750 space parking garage.
The design of the security system was required to provide appropriate control and monitoring capabilities while maintaining a welcoming and open environment to the citizens in the public areas. The system included an automated access control and alarm monitoring system, a closed circuit television surveillance system and an intercom/emergency assistance communication system.
